Good condition pre WWII Polish WZ 91/98/25 Mosin Nagant rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92 x 57) caliber. This interesting rifle was originally made as a Russian Model 1891 Mosin Nagant rifle and was either reissued to Poland after WWI or captured by the Poles during the 1919-21 Soviet-Polish War, and subsequently extensively Polish arsenal reworked. Marked on the barrel with the Polish eagle proof and caliber “7.93”. Receiver also has Polish eagle proof. This interesting gun was built on a Russian barreled receiver that is dated 1894 on the underside of the receiver, so rifle qualifies as an antique, no FFL required to purchase. Underside of receiver also has Chatellerault Arsenal “circle C” marking. Rifle is NOT import marked and has matching serial numbers on receiver, barrel, floorplate, stock, and buttplate. Bolt does not match but is correct Polish marked. Rifle has a replaced WWII German 98k rear sight leaf. Handguard and forend (ahead of the rear band) are repairs/replacements. Metal finish is original blue showing some normal wear. Bore is good with strong rifling and some oxidation that may clean better. Stock shows some normal handling marks and may have been lightly refinished. Right side buttstock has matching serial number and Polish arsenal “Z” cartouches. A very rare Polish 91/98/25 Mosin Nagant rifle in any condition!
